From Suffering to Soaring

Here is my book sharing a grueling journey into, out, and BEyond AIDS, or what I share now is AIDS Consciousness

Within these pages are the steps that I took to transcend my fears of life and death, my depresion, my guilt, my anger, my addictions, my material and spiritual attachments and more.  When we transcend AIDS we also transcend our suffering.

This book offers simple insights as to how we create our suffering in our lives and how we may then through this understanding unknow our suffering to realize our oneness.

In this book I share that from the depth of any misery we may follow the light of our heart to a peace and wholeness beyond description.

I awoke from my suffering and now offer this light to you.

Book is available through Lulu Publishing or amazon.com

"i read your book a few days ago, almost all in one sitting, & i've been letting it sink in.
it's difficult for me to organize my thoughts because it brought about such a shift for me. first of all, the alchemy is stunning--you have spun suffering into light!  Secondly, your use of the body as a door & a grounding--for me, this is an epiphany. i had turned to advaita simply to find an explanation for the spontaneous samadhis i've experienced throughout my life. however, the ignore-the-body teaching did not resonate for me, probably because i have been quite sick for most of my life (heavy exposure to ddt as a baby). pretending the body is not there when you are in excruciating pain & feeling the attendant terror, just does not work for some of us.  & third, your mention of doing vipassana meditation, something to which i was casually introduced years ago & loved but then abandoned, clicked. i started it again & it is wonderful.  There is much more. it is such a profound layered book. i'll be posting some quotes from it on my FB status from time to time--if you don't mind.  i thank you for your beauty & grace & love & inspiration. you are a great blessing for me." - Irene Harvey

"I cannot express enough how beautiful this book is. I found it to be so uplifting and touching. Mr. Schooping is one of the most inspirational writers I've come across. His viewpoint on life, love and happiness is not to be ignored....he is a wealth of information and it was absolutely my pleasure to read this book! It's amazing enough that he was able to endure all that he has, especially at such a young age, but then to go beyond that and HEAL, is just incredible. Sharing his story publicly is a gift to all and in that gift which he so generously gave, I have taken away so very much, have learned so many things, have opened my heart and mind to new ways of thinking and have seen beautiful changes coming from within. I highly recommend this book and will happily endorse it to anyone! Thanks to Mr. Schooping, I am learning to BE. :-)"  - Emmy, the "boys' mom

From Suffering to Soaring is a beautiful and inspiring book of one man's life story layed bare. Although Richard's personal story is of transcending Aids, it goes way beyond any and all human suffering, to touch the vast reservoir that is in us all. I have read a ton of books, whether on healing, inspiration, non-duality, and found this book really resonated deeply. From Richard Schooping's painful journey, to allowing us to see how he climbed out of 'aids consciousness'. I was incredibly moved and humbled.

It's a book I will return to again and again as it's filled with love, and light's the way. - B. McRobbie

“From Suffering to Soaring” is a passionately descriptive image of how a compassionate and gentle person was immersed into a physical and emotional roller coaster ride and how he overcame it all.  His perspective throughout the journey and in his writings is very spiritual and gives us “permission” to question standard methodology.  It also teaches us about true healing from within. Carol Hunsanger,Aug 7, 2009

"I read Mr. Schooping's book half expecting a depressing account of his experience living with AIDS, but I was surprised to find so much more in it. The book is essentially two books rolled into one, one which deals with the writer's first hand account with his disease and the repercussions that it has not only on him but on the people around him. This section of the book is a well written and gripping narrative with vivid and challenging sections which bring one to tears in parts. The second part deals with his spiritual awakening and this is where the book touches on important philosophical ideas that seem in a similar vein to those presented in The Secret and What the Bleep... as well as the writings of Abraham/Hicks. Mr. Schooping's writing is both powerful and well crafted, although this book is not what I would call an easy read, I highly recommend it to not only those affected with a disease, but also those who are seeking to have a better understanding of what our role as human beings is within the larger universal picture." - Kays Al-atrachi

"Mr. Schooping is an extremely talented author. The story of his journey will have the reader smiling at times, crying at times but most importantly marveling at the strength of the man and his spirit as he walks the path from dark despair to enlightenment . This book contains remarkable insight into personal growth, grace and gratitude. All of which the reader can achieve with the gentle guidance of the author. Suffering to Soaring is a must read. Excellent." - C.N.Huhn

"WOW! As I read page by page of one man's journey, I realized that people everywhere take a journey each day. This book reflected the incredible journey of an incredible man. He gives of himself without hesitation to make you want for more. Wanting to know the ups and downs of this very serious illness that haunts many who are afraid to open up and let the world know. This book sets an example of how we need to embrace those who need to know that there are people who care about others.  This is definitley a must read! I anticipate enjoying future readings from Mr. Schooping. This book is not just for those affected with AIDS. This book is for anyone who cares about our society and those around us. This book reveals journeys we can all take in our lives." - M. Gluck

"Richard Schooping's story is a raw and powerful offering of the unlimited possibilities that manifest through love, acceptance and the will to "be". One of the most powerful parts in the book is the example of his own perseverance through a life of endless personal challenges. The journey leads to a greater awareness of his own beingness, thus providing the key to overcoming and transcending immense personal suffering. His story gives hope, relativity and opportunity to anyone who is facing any kind of physical, mental or personal challenge in life. A genuine gift indeed." - H. Falco

"This book has touched me on so many levels. I picked this book to learn more about the disease, and ended up learning a new way to live my own life. It is apparent that Mr. Schooping has so much love and life to give to all those around him, and that anyone who is lucky enough to be inspired by him is blessed indeed. His story has taught me how to handle the struggles in my own life which now seem absurdly small, and I thank him for that. I will be anxiously awaiting his next book, wondering what beautiful pieces of wisdom I might learn from it." - love to read

"Richard Schooping is awe-inspiring with the most positive outlook on life of anyone that I know. He's motivating and determined to share his journey with the hope to help others. I've just completed the book and learned so much about not only his battle with disease, but about how to approach life in a new and positive direction, regardless of the circumstances that God gives you. I cried every time I turned the page it seems and I learned a lot of things to incorporate into my own life. I was inspired by the recommendation to not be "on a mission" because as he indicates in the book, you miss out on life while focusing on an end result. What an eye opener-sometimes it's the little things that hit a trigger for you-that was mine. As I move through a journey of my own it's been very beneficial to me! Great job, Great job!" Everyone should read this book if you're looking for a more positive way to approach life!"- Michelle M. Mosher

"This book is not just about aids - it is for anyone with a chronic disease. Actually, I think that this is a good read for everyone, as we all have some difficulty in our lives that we must transcend. It is an inspiring read and teaches us to be proactive and positive even in the face of great despair and suffering. I am currently rereading this book to apply some of the philosophies to help me transcend my asthma. I look forward to the authors next book." - KimmyD
